Adoption of corporate communication to the shared services.
OSF Multispecialty services had the opportunity to review the shared services to assure that they are meeting the needs of OSF MSS Operations (Rehab, Home Care and MSG) and deliver the objectives and needs of those they serve. Currently, there are multiple Centers of Expertise and shared services in MSS which practice in silos delivering similar services to their separate entities. This leads to duplicative efforts by multiple resources in delivering similar information and also hampers exchange of valuable information between entities There is also minimal collaboration between these shared services which leads to lack of communication. Additionally there was a need to discover the roles and responsibilities of super-users, preceptors & trainers within respective practices, agencies and markets to understand duplicity in tasks. There was also an opportunity to understand current workflow or processes within MSS for adoption and implementation of ministry led projects (CARES Act, CPR, workplace violence) and the roles that the shared services play in successful adoption. Ministry Education is often designed with in-patient bedside nurse focus, which typically requires additional re-model of education content for outpatient and ambulatory clinicians. Here lied an opportunity to discover how shared services under MSS could collaborate for effective delivery of this educational content. While developing these care models, allocation of travel expenses and other costs to Ministry should be considered and there was an opportunity to understand current cost allocation practices and analyze best practice for the same.
