There was an opportunity to optimize the storage within the Home Infusion Pharmacy space. This challenge was brought forward due to the supply chain shortages. When supply chain employees were able to purchase product, they would purchase as much as they could. This proposed a storage problem. The department did not a consistent storage process. There were many duplicate areas to store product, no FIFO process, and an outdated drug carousel that was taking up space and not being used. This would cause thousands of dollars of drugs to expire and have to be confiscated resulting in lost product and more storage issues.
